RuneFest 2011

RuneFest 2011 is right around the corner, just 8 weeks from now, and many of us RuneScape players are stoked about it. The main issue I see most is that many players don’t know exactly what RuneFest actually is.

RuneFest is a gathering for two days in-real-life with RuneScape players. It holds Insider Sessions with jagex, has a community area to hang out and play RuneScape, a meet the makers session, multiple Distractions & Diversions, the famous Golden Gnome Video Awards, RuneQuiz, a costume competition, and a Halloween Party on Saturday Night. This is an event you will not want to miss out on if you have the money to attend.

RuneSlayer plans to have two staff members attend RuenFest to meet and socialize with those who we support through our websites. If you are going to RuneFest, make sure you stop by and say “hello” to one of us!  It will be Anthony(Brainiac744) and Ben(Ben_Ryfos) who will be attending.

It isn’t too late to buy a ticket, but you should act fast because they are likely to sell out fast!

You can find out all the information you need to know about RuneFest by either visiting RuneFest.com or browsing the RuneFest section on the official RuneScape Forums.

Clan Citadels

“Chop, Chop, Chop.” Members of the clan huddle around the tree chopping away at the roots to collect resources. These resources, however, are not for personal gain other than the experience, they’re for the timber, they’re for the clan, they’re for the Citadel!

Hundreds of clans across RuneScape are racing to be the first clan to reach a tier 7 Clan Citadel, which were released in the clan update on July 26, 2011. Jagex is calling this the “update of the year”, although only time will tell how good this update actually is.

I personally love this update along with the idea behind it; working together as a team. It helps teach you to plan and organize by working together to reach a common goal, which most people need to learn how to do in their own lives.

RuneSlayer has a clan in-game which is currently at tier 2 (as of Tuesday, Aug 2nd). We are a very friendly clan (at least we like to think!) and will accept anyone into the clan since we have no requirements. Just join our clan chat, RuneSlayer, as a guest and ask someone to add you. All Members have invite permissions.

For more information on how to create a clan citadel please visit [http://www.runescape...el_members_only] for the time being.

Thanks,

Clan Camp

Banner

Have you all checked out the new clan camp and the new clan system yet?  If you answered no, then go check it out and come back to this in a bit.  If you answered yes, then continue reading.

The Clan Camp is located just outside the southwest gate of Falador and it is quite magnificent.  The awesome new graphics that Jagex put in the place for the trees are an amazing new feature that will hopefully keep players eyes keen to the game.

The one thing I like most about the update is the clan ‘homepage‘.  On this you have your very own forum for your clan users to use, which is quite unique!  You can also see a description of the clan, see how many and what users they have, their clan events, and even their kill-to-death ratio!

If you have yet to join in on the action with clans you are free to join our current clan, RuneSlayer (named after RuneSlayer.com), or check out some others!

Have a great day!

Dungeoneering Edging 99.

Dungeoneering has been out for a little while now and we are edging closer to having the first 99 in it.  Skiller 703 is currently rank #1 in overall and in Dungeoneering with level 95.  Our pall Stokenut has been taking it easy with the training and has fallen back to rank 51 in Dungeoneering.

I suspect Skiller 703 will be hitting level 99 in about a week or so, with only 4 Million Experience left till he gets there.  Then it is off to an even longer race to be the first person to get level 120 in the skill!  This will take a very long time as you have to get to 104,273,167 Experience.

Make sure you login and give Skiller 703 a push… we want to see a skill cape on an actual player!

Interview with Stokenut

Earlier today I conducted an interview with Stokenut, the person currently tied for 2nd place in the race for level 120 Dungeoneering.

Interview

What detail and screen sizing do you use?
I use small screen standard detail usually.

What is your least favorite skill?
Mining

Why?
Because it’s incredibly slow and has no real rewards.

What is your least favorite thing about Dungeoneering?
The movement glitches and lack of prayer altars. We get a prayer recharge allowance of 1,2, or3 times our level, yet we can’t usually use it.

What is your most favorite thing about Dungeoneering?
The fact that you’re always paying attention and it’s always different – Repetitive skills are boring.

How much time have you been spending on RS each day – due to the new skill of course?
Varies between 16 and 36 hour sessions. Lol. Lately I’ve had normal nights of sleep though.

When do you plan on reaching level 120?
It’ll take a long time, much longer than people realize. –At least 6 months.

What is your most favorite skill?
Slayer

Why is that?
Because it is always different, I guess.

Did you expect anything like Dungeoneering for the new skill?
Nah

Did you think it would be something like sailing?
I thought something like engineering/smithing/related.

Do you plan on going all the way to level 120?
Eventually. Short term is 99, but I won’t be stopping there. I also won’t be going this hard post 99.

Thanks goes out to Stokenut for allowing me to take up some of his time while he is about to take the lead towards 99 and even 120 Dungeoneering.
